Teacher's Day




The MORMS SSG initiated the Teachers Month Campaign last October, which inluded the celebration of the Teacher's Day last October 25,2008 with the theme "TEACHER KO, IDOL KO: THANKS MA'AM, THANKS SIR!".

The activities included the Opening Program, Card Giving and the Testimonial Rights. There was also a Card Making contest for the students, prior to the Teachers Day Celebration. The authors of the Top Ten Best Cards got a chance to read the cards on stage together with their adviser. The SSG also made a video for the teachers.
During the Opening Program, the emcees were Francis Gerard Toscano and Therese Isabelle S. Vega. The program included the speeches of the year level governors and tributes to the teachers.
The celebration was sponsored by the Sangguniang Bayan ng Guinobatan and the MORMS Alumni Association.

The Great Japan Experience




Two students, Lorenz Ray Payonga and Rene Ceasar Operio, of MORMS were delegates to the American Field Service-Japan East Asia Network of Exchane Students and Youths last December 4-18, 2008 at Japan, together with other students from the Philippines and other countries in Asia.


Payonga and Operio stayed at Japan with their host families and they got a chance to study at a Japanese School.


The two students got a chance to see the signts of Japan and feel the Japan Climate. The students also experienced snow since it was winter in Japan when they attended the said activity.


Most of all Payonga and Operio enjoyed their stay at Japan and said that it was an unforgettable experience for both of them.

PAYONGA reached international!!!

Lorenz Ray Payonga of MORMS won the 2nd Prize in the 2nd APEC English Speech Contest held on August 20, 2008 at Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO), Busan South Korea. He was among nine other contestants from eight participating countries. The contest was part of the 6th APEC Learning Community Builders (ALCOB) Conference on August 20 - 21, 2008.


He was one of the 3 contestants that comprised the Philippine delegation to the 1st ALCOB Edutainment Exchange Program (AEEP) held on August 15 - 21, 2008 at Hanhua Resorts, Busan South Korea. Other participating coutries were south Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru and China.

MORMS SSG Sergeants-at-Arms hold Orientation

SSG Sgts.-at-Arms, and Kalinisan Brigade Team Chairmen Jan Christian Gregorio and Angelica Olaguer called for a meeting of Sergeants-at-Arms of all classes and the CAT Facilitators to orient them with their duties and responsibilities as enforcers of Ordinance No. 1, s. 2007 (AN ORDINANCE PROMOTING CLEANLINESS IN THE SCHOOL PREMISES; ORGANIZING AN AD HO COMMITTEE FOR THIS REASON; REWARDING OUTSTANDING ADVOCATES; IMPOSING SANCTIONS TO VIOLATORS; AND REPEALING ANY ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT). The orientation was held on July18, 2008, 3:00p.m.

The provisions of the said ordinance and other duties and responsibilities of enforcers will be elaborated on the First General Assembly, which is tentatively scheduled on August 1, 2008.

Please help us attain our goals

The SSG is now accepting payments for the SSG Developmental Fee of P45.00 at the SSG Office. Listed below is the schedule of collection:
  • Monday-Thursday - 11:30 a.m.-12:15p.m.; 4:30 p.m.-5:30p.m.
  • Friday - 2:30 p.m.-4:30p.m.
While the Department of Education mandates that payment be made voluntary, the SSG encourages all students to pay for such to enable the SSG to perform its duties, responsibilities, and services well to the students.

The MORMS SSG also encourages the students to pay for the other voluntary contributions:
  • Publication Fee - P75.00
  • Miscellaneous Fees - P150.00
  • P.T.A. Fee - P250.00 (per taxable parent)
  • BSP Fee - P60.00 or P100.00 (for boys)
  • GSP Fee - P100.00 (for girls)

Payonga, Opiana wins CFSSG posts: heading for DFSSG

PRESIDENT Lorenz Ray Payonga and Vice President Mateo Opiana were elexted as President and Treasurer, respectively of the Cluster II Federation of Supreme Student Governments (CFSSG) during the election held at the MORMS Library on July 9, 2008.

The election involved two parties named ASTIG Party and SAINTS Party. Lorenz was the standard bearer of the ASTIG Party while Mateo was the Treasurer for the SAINTS Party. Lorenz won the election with 50 votes versus 15 of his contender from the other party. On the other hand Mateo was named Treasurer with a two-point difference against his opponent.

Secretary Mary Joy Vibar also fought the race for the Secretary of the CFSSG but was not able to win with a two-point difference.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Glenda Olgina, SSG Adviser, was also elected as the President of the Cluster II Federation of Supreme Student Government Advisers (CFSSGA) while the students' group were having their elections. On July 17, 2008, Lorenz, Mateo, and Ma'am Glen will be attending the Elections for the Division Federation of Supreme Student Governments (DFSSG) of Albay in Malabog National High School, together with the other elected officers of the CFSSG.
